Behind “SM City Mall Sucat”, in the progressive city of Paranaque in the Philippines, ten suburban midrise condominiums are starting to rise in the middle of eight acres (3.2 hectares) of rolling fields. The Field Residences development caters mainly to middle income Filipinos by delivering a first-class residential community.
The contractor from Quezon City, Philippines was tasked with constructing quality buildings at a rate of one tower per year. Each building comprises 1,500 m2 to 2,000 m2 (16,150 sq2 to 21,500 ft2) of livable space per floor, ranging from 10 to 12 floors per building. The contractor chose EFCO as their partner to engineer and supply a complete formwork solution for the entire development.
EFCO provided the HAND-E-FORM® system for the foundations, columns, and shear walls, and the EFCO PRO 4® shoring system for the elevated slabs. The project started in March 2008 with Building 1 and proceeded with the completion of Buildings 2, 8 and 3. Building 7 construction is currently at level 6 and progressing ahead of schedule. With the combination of two efficient EFCO forming systems, five buildings have been constructed in four years; and Terp Asia Construction is well ahead of the master plan schedule.
